Naples is a visual kaleidoscope of people, colors, laundry, cigarettes, fashion and centuries old buildings. Dirty & grimy, Naples has heart beat of its own.
The energy pulsates through the narrow winding streets, shaded by the buildings above. Romance & love is all around, from the food to the friendships, old couples to young lovers.
It was the buildings in various states of decay which struck me most, is this due to the ever present threat of another Vesuvius eruption? I think so. The people of Napoli live in the now. The food, the fashion the social life being key pillars of culture along family & religion.
Let's get to the pizza. New York pizza ain’t got nothing on the chew and flavour of Napoli. The basil is more fragrant. Tomato Sauce from heaven. Dough chewy. Cheese like nothing else. Well priced & straight out of a wood fired oven.
